Moose is going to be a great player for this team. It would be great if the faces of Dallas Stars players would stop being puck magnets. And while i don’t believe in moral victories, you have to admire how the Stars came back after the first two periods of really bad defensive hockey.
Oops, I left a very similar comment before reading yours! And seriously, starting to wish these boys would proactively protect their money-makers and just wear cages like youth players.
Boy, show some respect. “The Moose” is the real deal. Best passer I’ve watched in quite awhile!
Not the D’s or Otters best game. Specifically, I thought he was supposed to play the shot on a 2 on 1, AND assume Harley had the pass covered… which he did! Might have been Boosh’s worst game. Dumba is such a mixed bag, gets a goal, but chases puck at net front, not staying on his man.
Nice comeback, though a bit short.
Somebody is going to have to explain to Granlund that shots that are not on net, never score. Jeesh, he misses A LOT. Lots of effort, no results…
Rantanen looks fantastic and will be a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs which will open up more opportunities for Robo and Roope too (pls be back soon).
I think you’re right in that there’s not too much to read into tonight, my worry is with how our defence looked quite slow on transition against a playoff quality opponent, Avs and VGK will cause the same problems so obviously getting Miro back will be a big help but especially with the way our defensemen like to join the attack it killed us the other way tonight.
I thought Otter lost us this game. He was scrambling and out of position quite a bit. The defense did not have a good game. Just reload in Vancouver and get 2 points
What we saw last night in first two periods is one thing that worries me: it doesn't matter how good your forwards are if you spend most of your time in your own zone defending or attempting - and failing - to transition the puck out of your own zone.
Too often this team gets bogged down defensively bc they just don't have the DMen to deal with some of these top lines in the NHL.
I'm not reacting to Oldepunk here. More to some of the things I hear about on other platforms every time Oetter let's one in. It's reactive and distorted.
The moral victory, if there is one, is that earlier in the season (and maybe even the tail end of last season), pre-Moose if you will, there was no way on this planet that the Stars could have mounted a comeback against that deficit.
Also, can I say—what a waste of a game with a Matt Dumba goal? 😎

Jason Dickinson is truly haunting this team.
This is the most obvious explanation.

Looks like Moose is going to fit right in!

Bring Miro back!
There's so much meat on the bone of every article. I particularly enjoyed the Mousetrap analogy.
The Oetter detractors need to lay off the internet outrage crack pipe. I'm embarrassed for them. The sky is falling! Not really.

Thanks, bud. I try to give readers more than just takes or recaps, and hopefully I occasionally succeed. Trying to get better every day.

Pre-Moose/post-moose needs to become a thing.
